No.11 Silver Fizz
This classic gin fizz is delightfully bubbly and festive. The bright, fresh notes of Laneway No.11 Gin are the perfect pairing for the sour citrus and herbal flavours, while the creamy smoothness of the egg whites provides a nice counterpoint to the fizzy soda water.
Combine in a shaker:
3 oz Laneway No.11 Gin
½ oz lemon juice
2 oz Herbed Simple Syrup*
2 oz egg white
2 oz sparkling or soda water, chilled
Add the gin, lemon juice and simple syrup to a shaker and stir to combine.
Add in the egg white and dry shake (no ice) vigourously for 3-4 minutes until a thick foam has formed.
Add ice and shake to chill and stiffen the foam (about 1 minute). Strain into a champagne flute, highball or collins glass and top with soda water to create a thick, frothy foam on top of your cocktail.
*Herbed Simple Syrup:
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
3 sprigs fresh mint
1 sprig fresh rosemary
Add the sugar and water to a small saucepan. Set heat to medium and simmer until sugar is dissovled, stirring occasionally to prevent the sugar from sticking to the pan. Turn heat off and add in the fresh herbs. Leave to sit until cool (around 20 minutes), then strain into an airtight glass jar and store in the fridge.
This makes two cocktails.
