This cocktail has all of the elements of a classic sour, but will surprise and delight you with its unusual and fragrant combination of Japanese citrus with Boréal forest.
Combine in a wide-mouth mixing jar:
- 1 1/2 oz Ever Gin Liqueur
- 1 tbsp yuzu juice
- 2 tsp maple syrup
- 2 tsp egg white
Using a hand-blender, blend on high until frothy. Add ¼ cup of ice and blend until ice is crushed very fine and foam is stiffened. Garnish with some Espelette pepper for a kick, or some ground sumac for a more earthy twist.
We like this quick and easy method of making a sour, but if you don’t have a hand-blender you can follow the classic dry-shake, wet-shake and strain method. (Shake vigorously for at least 1 minute, add ice and shake to chill, then strain into a coupe glass.)
