Rhubarb Pie Sour
The Rhubarb Pie Sour. The complex and spicy flavours of our No.33 Gin are a natural in this mouthwatering sour. A dusting of fresh nutmeg on top takes it into dessert territory.
Add to a cocktail shaker:
- 40mL Laneway No.33 Gin
- 20mL maple syrup
- 15mL Rhubarb Simple Syrup*
- 15mL fresh lime juice
- 30mL egg white (or 1 egg white)
Dry shake until a frothy foam has formed, then add ice and shake to chill and stiffen the foam. Pour into a cocktail coupe and dust with fresh-grated nutmeg. If you do not have any nutmeg, a very light sprinkling of cinnamon will also be delicious.
* Rhubarb Simple Syrup:
This is a versatile and easy to make syrup that is also makes a delicious mocktail with sparkling water.
Add 2 cups of water and 1 cup of sugar to a medium-sized saucepan and bring to a boil, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Add 4-5 stalks of chopped fresh rhubarb and simmer for 15-20 minutes, until syrup has thickened and the rhubarb is soft. Strain into a covered glass jar and store in the fridge.
